Released earlier this month, "Billy Talent III" continues a series of eponymous releases that began with the band's self-titled 2003 album, and continued on 2006's "Billy Talent II." The new set was produced by Brendan O'Brien (AC/DC, Bruce Springsteen).
A deluxe version of "Billy Talent III" will include a second disc with the guitar tracks removed from the songs so that fans can play along at home, along with four demo songs and guitar tabs for the complete album transcribed on a pair of full-size wall posters.
"We thought it was a really great idea and we always have guitar players on our website sharing tabs and talking about guitar playing," bassist Jonathan Gallant told music site UpVenue.com recently. "We run into other guitarists who tell us they really enjoy playing our songs. We thought it was a great way for people to jam along with it. There's a lot of good musicians out there."
